This is a limited edition lithograph of an original watercolor. The edition is 500, each one signed and dated by the artist.
I was at a Pow Wow at the Indian Trading Post in Palm Canyon, Ca. I was selling my baskets. There were wonderful dancers performing. As the proprietor of the trading post explained the Eagle Spirit Dancer and what it meant, she noticed an eagle circling above the crowd. My husband had taken some photos of this, and I did several watercolors. I thought that the good omen of the eagle spirit would be good for my first limited edition lithograph series.
As a watercolor artist, my forte is negative space painting (created lighter things in the painting by painting darker areas next to them). This painting was a great example because that is how I did all of the fringe and decorations on the costume.
